Another very wet day.  I am sorry those letters are missing.  I said the breeches had arrived and the puttees in two consecutive letters, thinking thereby to make certain that you would know – All the papers these days seem to say that Germany is starving, but I do wish they would hurry up a bit, don’t you?  Why cannot we all go to sleep until this time next year and then wake up and if she is starved, all right; if not then we go to sleep again!  Arthur seems to be doing a good deal of shooting.  I sometimes think we can hear him here.”

On this day an Inter-Allied Conference was convened in Rome to discuss the situation and leadership in Greece and Macedonia as well as co-ordination of the catering of shipping.
