GWL 10th November 1916

The mails are getting awfully erratic these days.  They depart and arrive just as they please, so to speak.  Lovely weather now.  Mushrooms in millions.  We have them for every meal!  I am schooling a mule.  He is much better looking than 9/10 of the horses out here and is a very comfortable ride.  It took me a long time to get him out of the camp yesterday.  Finally we got going after much hitting & proceeded, bellowing down the road.  At present he gives tongue about every five minutes when he is out alone.  He has a beautiful action.”
