GWL12th September 1916

It is much cooler here;  a good breeze every day and generally a shower in the evening.  I really believe Flora is getting fat.  She ought to; she gets an awful lot to eat.  There is not a scrap of news.  To tell the truth life is as dull as can be.  Yet we must not complain as other places are lively beyond a joke.  Any news of Frank?  Has Ion been on leave?  Peter is quite all right, but a long way away.  On Saturday we are having a tea party!  Some nurses from one of the hospitals are coming.  It is practically two years since we left China.  They were good days, weren’t they?”

On the 11th Prime Minister Zaimis of Greece resigned.
