GWL 15th January 1916

“Enclosed is a photograph taken outside Sardar Villa on Christmas Day.  Not bad, is it?  I am so glad you have got some letters from here.  You have had a long wait………

Very wet and inclement weather.  Snow this morning, oh worry cold.  Do you see what has happened to poor Peter?  He has been given a Regular commission but has been appointed to the West Ridings.  We are getting very busy from this end and hope we can get it changed.  Another parcel came yesterday.  A very good one with a book.  Will you please thank Nana for her card and tell her that I will write when I can.  Rather busy just now – The Austro-German-Bulgar-Graeco-Turk seems to be showing signs of life.”
