GWL 3rd April 1915

Such a big mail to-day……….thank you so much.  Still in our little wood but not so fine to-day.  Last night it rained all night, while we were digging, & was rather wretched altogether, but we must not expect too much, must we?…….

Those are lovely sweets in that tin box from Harrods.  Have eaten too may already.  Shall be “sick ‘ound” soon!

I am full of work.  Paying out a company these days involves signing your name about 200 times.  Then there is the censoring to do, which probably adds another 70 or 80.  Of course we don’t pay every day…….”

The Dover Straits Barrage was completed on April 3rd.
